May 7

Since I have missed a couple of weeks, I have some catch up to do:
God has been seen/felt/heard
-(as bizarre as it may sound) my mechanic telling me he wouldn't trust my car in the mountains.
-The car accident, last Weds. (I was hit from behind), no one was seriously injured. Note to God: ok I get the message, this car is not to leave the state of Nebraska!
-Mentors who can give my life's challenges a whole different perspective.
-a potential buyer for my car, so I don't have to scrap it.
-2009 Confirmation class.
-a friend being moved by a testimony to help a woman's mission organization.

April 5, 2009

I've been a bit lax in my God sightings.

-Kendra standing up for a friend, as a sponsor, for his baptism.
-Jaydee and Kendra participating in a candle lighting ceremony, honoring their 10th anniversary of their baptisms. (I can't wait to see the pictures.)
-Janell and Randy opening their home and watching the girls for a few days.
-God holding me up on Bubba (no there are not any pictures of this!)
-God answering prayers during a rough landing.
-A little girl being "grown up" pulling her own carry-on bag and handing her ticket to the agent. She was just so cute, and brought a smile to everyone around her.
-Strangers sharing stories about ski trips, and where the best snow is this time of year. (NO, I was not part of this conversation! lol)

Weeks of March 8 and 15

Apparently life got away from me, as I didn't list last weeks.

-Kendra and I have been asked to sponsor a friend of Kendra's for his baptism. What an honor, especially for a 12 year old.
-Terry leading a passenger to Christ.
-Jaydee questioning Bible passages.
-A loving friend, who doesn't realize how much she has impacted my life.
-Two friends encouraging a third to move on with her life after a divorce.
-The opportunity to co-teach with my mentor

Monday, March 2, 2009

Week of March 1

-A friend scraping ice off car windows for another friend.
-Old pals meeting for lunch.
-A dear one being used as an example of how to "spread the Gospel in a non-Christian job."

side note regarding #3: Pray for the client to be brought to Christ. He keeps asking questions, but hasn't fully accepted Christ, yet.

Week of Feb. 22

God was seen/heard...

-heard Kendra sharing her faith with 3 of her friends. She even had the courage to talk to #3 after #2 laughed at her and called her a "loser."
-23,500 lbs of food collected by Dare2Share participants for the Lincoln City Mission
-Greg S. and team teaching middle and high schoolers how to share their faith.

Monday, February 16, 2009

Week of Feb. 15

-co-worker praying, after hours of frustration, to find an expensive tool which was mia. Seconds later it was found!
- open discussion amongst teens about "what love is..."
-discovering Jesus' human-ness, and really pondering the idea of Jesus with a good sense of humor. As one person put it, "he was basically camping with a bunch of teen to early-twenty year olds for 3 years. He had to have had a sense of humor!"

Monday, February 9, 2009

Week of Feb. 8

-the girls going through some of their dad's stuff.
-shared coffee or dinner with friends.
-the warmth of the sun

Monday, February 2, 2009

Week of Feb. 1

God has been seen/felt through:

-prayers for a wayward child needing guidance.
-open discussions about OT laws versus NT covenant.
-friends patiently listening to fears and concerns, then praying for the other person.

Weeks of Jan. 18 and 25th

Since I wasn't home last week, I'm doubling up this week.

Jan. 18

-"no jacket required" day at the coast
- The big smile on a little girl's face, when mom returned to the house, after spending time with friends for the afternoon.
-The loving actions of a family to make sure a young lady has a good birthday, even away from home.

Jan. 25

-Snowflakes glittering in the sun. (too bad they pile up!)
-teens ice skating
-teens making sure friends have a ride home

Sunday, January 11, 2009

Week of January 11

-High school kids working together "Kids Against Hunger," assembling packets of food for over 9000 people.
-The openness and trust heard and felt in a group of teenagers discussing a touchy topic.
-Small talk, with a stranger, leading him back to church, if anything but to join a group studying finances...planted the seeds, at least.

Week of Jan. 4, 2009

New Year...New Sightings!

Usually I keep the sightings (I post) along the personal lines, a couple of these were in the news, and are, in my opinion, worthy of noting.

-The Oregon family who escaped not only a mudslide, but also the resulting fire. As reported in The Oregonian "the family Bible was saved," as well.

-The little 4-year old boy, who was found at a truck stop in Ohio. God's angels had to have been protecting him! (Sadly, his mother was found slain, in their home.)

-Reconnecting with friends after holiday breaks.
